Specific goals:

In his presentation in September 2002, “Evolving Strategies for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer, Superiority of Infusional 5-FU Based Combination Therapy” Dr. Douillard examined the Controversy surrounding the Saltz vs. Folfox regimes. Dr. Douillard also covered the Intergroup study: Folfiri (CPT 11 + LV 5FU); Folfox (Oxaliplatin) vs. Folfox (Oxaliplatin LV 5FU); Folfiri (CPT 11).

Dr. Maroun and Dr. Fields comment on the relevance of sequential therapy as presented by Douillard; Xeloda as a replacement for 5FU LV in combination therapy; the Falcone study and what can be anticipated in terms of the use of three-drugs (CPT-11, Oxaliplatin, 5FU-LV or CPT-11, Oxaliplatin, Xeloda) in adjuvant or neo-adjuvant therapy.
