1. The content of the abstract must be original and should not have been presented previously at a national meeting.
2. Applications must be sent online in PDF format no later than
   February 1st, 2012 @ 2400 hrs to: steven.latosinsky@lhsc.on.ca
3. Abstracts must use:
   a) minimum 12 font
   b) single-spacing
   c) 1” margins on all sides
   d) Title format: The role of antibiotics in acute appendicitis.
   e) Authors format: Andy B. Jones, MD; Carol D. Smith, BSc; Jane Doe, MD MSc
   f) Institutional affiliations of authors
   g) Corresponding author identified with their address, Fax, telephone and email address.
   h) 150 to 250 words long
   i) Headings: Introduction; Methods; Results; Conclusions
4. Authors can submit more than 1 abstract but only 1 will be accepted with a given first author. Authors will be contacted before March 1st regarding decisions.
5. Abstracts will be published in the Canadian Journal of Surgery.
6. Authors have the option of submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Surgical Oncology. Manuscripts should be submitted at the CSSO Meeting for review by the CSSO Research Committee prior to the final submission to JSO.
